The first time I saw artificial intelligence in action I was honestly in awe. It felt like magic. The speed. The accuracy. The way it handled tedious and complex tasks in seconds that used to take people hours or days. Watching it generate images, write text, and connect ideas so easily was hard to believe at first.

For a while, that feeling stayed with me. I kept showing it to friends and coworkers. Look at this. Look how fast it is. Look what it can do. It felt like the beginning of something big.

But after the excitement settled, something else caught my attention.

One day, I realized I had answered emails, organized my calendar, and prepared notes for a meeting without really thinking about any of it. The work was done. Everything looked right. But my mind barely felt involved. I hadn’t slowed down. I hadn’t questioned anything. I had just moved on.

Nothing was broken. In fact, everything worked exactly as promised.

That was the part I didn’t expect.

It was fascinating.

And a little unsettling.

Every foundational shift arrives the same way. Fire was once terrifying and sacred. Electricity stunned crowds at world fairs. The internet felt like stepping into another world. They all arrived loudly. Then they disappeared into normality.

Fire became a stove.

Electricity became a switch.

The internet became the air around daily life.

AI is following the same path.

Generative AI shocks us at first. But novelty is not transformation. Normalization is. The deeper change begins when AI stops being something you try and starts being something you assume.

When machines take over mundane tasks, they are not just saving time. They are changing how attention works.

For most of human history, our days were shaped by necessity. We spent mental energy remembering, calculating, organizing, repeating. AI removes those burdens almost invisibly. And when mental friction disappears, something unexpected happens.

We are left alone with our thoughts more often.

This is where discomfort begins.

Because many of us are not used to that.

When our minds are no longer busy managing life, they begin to ask different questions. Why am I doing this work at all. Is this what I want to spend my limited attention on. AI does not answer those questions. It creates space for them.

That space is powerful.

And also dangerous.

Depending on what fills it.

As AI improves, work itself starts to change shape. Productivity is no longer about effort. It is about clarity. When a system can draft a proposal, analyze numbers, and suggest solutions in seconds, the human role shifts.

The value moves from producing to choosing.

From speed to judgment.

From execution to taste.

This is not something we have experienced before. Even during the industrial revolution, humans were still faster thinkers than machines. Now, thinking is abundant.

Decision making is not.

This shift explains why creativity does not disappear with AI. It mutates. Creativity becomes less about starting from nothing. And more about navigating possibilities. Writers explore ideas they would never have attempted alone. Designers test hundreds of concepts instead of five.

Musicians hear variations they did not imagine.

The human remains central.

But not solitary.

Creation becomes a conversation.

Then comes the moment where AI stops feeling personal.

And starts feeling existential.

In science, AI sees patterns we cannot. It connects dots across data sets so massive that intuition becomes useless. In medicine, it finds disease before symptoms exist. In chemistry and physics, it proposes solutions that feel alien to human logic.

This is not faster thinking.

It is different thinking.

For the first time, knowledge itself is no longer limited by the architecture of the human brain. That realization quietly dismantles an assumption we have held for centuries.

Intelligence was our defining advantage as a species.

Now it is shared.

And once intelligence is no longer exclusive, it forces a deeper question.

If thinking is not what makes us human, what does?

The answer is not comforting.

It is responsibility.

Responsibility becomes unavoidable the moment intelligence stops being rare. When machines can think faster, remember more, and analyze deeper than any individual human, power separates from understanding. AI can act without awareness of harm. Without empathy. Without consequence.

That gap must be filled by humans.

Responsibility means deciding where automation ends and judgment begins. It means asking not only whether a system works, but who it affects, who it excludes, and who pays the price when it fails. AI will always move toward efficiency.

Humans must decide when efficiency conflicts with what makes us human.

As intelligence scales, so do consequences. A single design choice can shape millions of lives at once. Bias, negligence, and indifference no longer remain local mistakes. They become systemic outcomes.

Responsibility is what forces us to slow down when speed is possible.

And to choose restraint when optimization is tempting.

It also means refusing to hide behind the machine. Saying the algorithm decided is not an escape from accountability. It is a surrender of it. Every AI system carries human intention, whether explicit or ignored.

Responsibility is the act of owning those intentions and their outcomes.

In an age where thinking is automated, responsibility becomes the last human task. It cannot be outsourced, trained, or optimized away.

It demands presence.

Humility.

Moral courage.

That is why responsibility is not a burden added by AI. It is the role AI leaves behind for us.

AI begins by astonishing us with speed. It ends by challenging the story we tell about ourselves. It gives us time back, but demands that we decide what that time is for.

It gives us power.

But removes excuses.

Artificial intelligence is not simply changing how we live. It is asking us who we are willing to be.

When intelligence is no longer what sets us apart, responsibility does.

Together, we’ve launched, scaled, shut down, and reinvented businesses across mobile apps, games, SaaS platforms, and advertising technology. This isn’t a story of overnight success—it’s a long-term journey shaped by persistence, failure, and constant learning.

I started my career as a Systems Engineer and naturally moved into Product Management as I began building and scaling products. My professional path began at Microsoft, where I spent three years learning how world-class products are built. But it quickly became clear that being an employee was never going to be my final destination.

The First Company: Learning the Hard Way

In 2008, we co-founded our first startup, Publizar, an online discounts platform in Venezuela. At its peak, it became one of the most visited websites in Caracas and one of the earliest large-scale digital deals platforms in the country.

Despite the traction, the business model didn’t work.

Publizar failed—but it taught us one of our most important lessons early on: growth without a sustainable business is not success. That experience became the foundation for everything that followed.

Building Products at Scale: Mobile Apps & Games

In 2012, my brother and I co-founded ICO Tech, a mobile application development company. Over the next five years, we built nearly 20 Android and iOS apps across industries such as hospitality, restaurants, education, and events. Several of these products reached Top 10 rankings in their categories in different countries.

Games soon became our next focus

In 2014, we launched Apensar App, a mobile word game that surpassed 40 million downloads worldwide. Apensar (Wordie in English) was featured among the Top 50 Google Play Games of 2015, ranked in the Top 10 most downloaded games in more than 110 countries, and received over a dozen awards.

In 2016, we partnered with Disney to create a special kids’ edition of Apensar.

In 2017, we released Letter Master on Facebook Instant Games, reaching nearly 10 million players in its first year.

The Hardest Decision: Letting Go to Move Forward

In 2018, we made one of the most difficult decisions of our entrepreneurial journey: we chose to let go of what was, at the time, our most successful game.

Rather than continuing to scale it ourselves, we sold the game’s IP to a publicly traded company in Europe.

That decision wasn’t about walking away from success—it was about recognizing where our real leverage was. We took the underlying technology that made our games go viral and redirected it toward a broader opportunity: using those same mechanics to help other products and platforms increase engagement and improve purchase conversion rates.

Letting go of a winning product allowed us to double down on what we did best, and apply it far beyond games.

That decision led to Fastcards, a mobile-first platform that enabled brands to create personalized landing pages designed to improve digital campaign conversion rates. Fastcards is being use by global brands such as L’Oréal, Unilever, Bayer, and Mattel.

Co-Founding Admazing

Still working together, my brother and I, co-founded Admazing, a mobile gaming advertising company and ad exchange. It was built to help brands connect with audiences through interactive, game-based experiences instead of disruptive ads.

Today, Admazing works with 220+ global brands, including multiple Fortune 500 companies, helping them run high-impact advertising campaigns inside mobile games worldwide.

In 2019, my brother and I were selected as Endeavor Entrepreneurs, and over the years we’ve participated in top-tier accelerator programs such as 500 Startups, Google Launchpad, and FBStart.

2022: A Personal and Professional Milestone

2022 marked a definitive turning point in our journey. Professionally, Admazing was recognized by Inc. Magazine as one of the fastest-growing private companies in America, ranking on the prestigious Inc. 5000 list. This validation of our growth and scale was the result of years of iterating in the advertising technology space.

On a personal level, after years of building companies, navigating failure, and continuously pushing forward, I was granted U.S. permanent residency under the EB-1A visa for extraordinary ability in business.

It wasn’t just an immigration milestone—it was recognition of a long-term journey built through discipline, resilience, and conviction.

The Projects That Didn’t Succeed

Not every company or product worked. In fact, many didn’t.

Those failures—often more than the wins—shaped our instincts, decision-making, and ability to see what others miss. Every shutdown, every wrong assumption, and every painful pivot directly informed the companies that eventually succeeded.

Entrepreneurship isn’t about the wins or the failures.

It’s about the ability to learn, adapt, and keep building through both.

I still remember the feeling. The weight of it in my hands. The sound it made when it hit the floor. Something clicked inside me in that moment. I didn’t have the words for it back then, but looking back, I know exactly what it was. It was love.

From that day on, basketball became my world. I played all the time. Before school, after school, whenever I could sneak away. I stayed out there until it got dark and my parents had to call me inside. Every free minute belonged to the ball.

Like millions of kids around the world, I had a dream that felt impossibly big and completely natural at the same time. I wanted to play in the NBA.

And I worked for it. Hard. Relentlessly. Training, practice, competition. Basketball taught me discipline before life ever did. It taught me how to fail, how to lose, how to get back up and try again. For years, my entire identity revolved around that dream.

When I was 16, something happened that felt like destiny calling.

My parents gave me the opportunity to travel to the United States to attend a summer basketball camp at IMG Academy in Florida. One of the best basketball camps in the country. For me, it felt unreal. Like stepping into the life I had been dreaming about for as long as I could remember.

Every day at IMG felt like living inside a dream. I trained all day. I played all day. Basketball filled nearly every waking hour. I went to sleep exhausted and woke up excited, ready to do it all over again. I remember thinking, this is it. This is where my dream becomes real.

Then came the conversation that changed everything.

One of the activities at the camp was a talk with a college and NBA scout. He sat us down and explained the path. The process. The reality. This was around 2002, long before international players had the opportunities they have today. Back then, the NBA was a nearly closed door for foreign players.

He spoke calmly. Objectively. In numbers.

He talked about probabilities. Percentages. The actual odds of an international player making it to the NBA. I don’t remember the exact number, but I remember how it felt when I heard it. The room didn’t move, but something inside me collapsed.

The number was tiny. Almost nonexistent.

That moment destroyed me.

It broke something pure. Something innocent. It shattered the dream of the child I had been for years. For the first time, fear entered the picture. Not fear of failure, but fear of trying for something that felt almost impossible.

When I went back home, I wasn’t the same kid. I kept playing. I still loved the game. I finished high school playing basketball and even played during the first months of college. But the fire was different. Doubt had taken a seat in my mind and it didn’t leave.

Despite having the full support of my parents, I made a decision that felt logical at the time but heavy in my chest. I chose not to pursue basketball professionally. I told myself it didn’t make sense to chase something with such low odds. I told myself I was being realistic. I told myself a lot of things.What I was really doing was letting odds decide my future.

So I walked away from my childhood dream and turned toward another passion. Technology. I studied software engineering. Life moved forward. New goals. New paths. The basketball chapter of my life felt closed.

Years passed.

I started companies. I failed. I learned. I built again. Eventually, without really planning it that way, my brother and I ended up building a company together. We were creating mobile apps for all kinds of businesses across Latin America, from small restaurants to big brands. One day, almost casually, we had an idea. What if we built our own game?

That idea turned into a mobile game called Apensar, known as Wordie in English.

What happened next still feels unreal.

Long nights, mistakes, pivots, and relentless work, the game took off. One million downloads. Then five. Then ten. Then numbers that felt impossible to process. We reached more than 40 million downloads worldwide. Top 10 most downloaded games in over 110 countries. Awards. Recognition. Things I had never imagined.

And then one day, in the middle of all of that, my brother sent me an article.

The title was blunt and brutal: “Your chances of making a successful mobile app are almost nil.”

But one line stopped me cold.

“You have a better chance of making the NBA than making your app viral.”

I froze.

I read it again.

And again.

According to the article, the odds of a programmer building an app that goes viral were so low that statistically, you had a better chance of making an NBA roster than seeing your app succeed at that level

In that moment, everything came crashing back. The six-year-old kid. The basketball. IMG Academy. The scout. The number that destroyed my dream. The decision I made out of fear.

And suddenly, I understood something that took me decades to realize.

I had walked away from one impossible dream because of the odds. And years later, without realizing it, I had chased another dream with the same level of impossibility. The difference was simple.

This time, I didn’t know the odds.

This time, I didn’t ask for permission. I didn’t listen to statistics. I didn’t calculate probabilities.

I just kept going.

Life had brought me full circle.

I didn’t make it to the NBA. But I reached something statistically just as unlikely. Not because I was smarter. Not because I was more talented. But because this time, I didn’t stop when things looked impossible.

And that’s the lesson I want to leave you with.

Sometimes, ignorance is a blessing.

When you start a journey, especially an entrepreneurial one, knowing too much about the odds can paralyze you. Statistics can scare you. Opinions can crush you. Probabilities can kill dreams before they ever begin.

The game only ends when you quit.
